Begin Again: Madeline Island

What to Expect

This workshop, taught by Megan Miller, BEGIN AGAIN: A 3-Day Plein Air Painting Workshop offers a grounded, supportive introduction to painting outdoors with confidence and clarity. Geared toward newer plein air painters—or artists looking to reset and strengthen their fundamentals—the workshop centers on going out to paint on Madeline Island while learning how to find dynamic compositions, simplify and organize values, and develop a solid, repeatable color-mixing approach.

Daily demonstrations and guided painting sessions help students build a strong foundation for working in the landscape, with individual feedback supporting growth at each stage. In addition to painting together on the island, Megan shares practical tools and simple structures students can take home, giving students the confidence and clarity to continue their plein air practice with intention and consistency long after the workshop concludes.
