1 | Capturing the Essence of Summer
In our first session, we'll dive into the essence of summer, exploring themes such as sunshine, blooming flowers, and outdoor landscapes. You'll learn fundamental techniques for capturing the warmth and energy of this season on canvas.

2 | Sun-Kissed Landscapes
In our second session, we'll focus on painting landscapes bathed in the golden light of summer. From serene countryside scenes to bustling beach vistas, you'll learn how to evoke the beauty and tranquility of summer landscapes through brushstrokes and color.

3 | Clouds and Sky Focus
Our third session invites you to look upwards and explore the ever-changing canvas of summer skies. Learn how to paint dramatic clouds, brilliant sunsets, and expansive skies filled with the promise of summer storms.

4 | St. Croix River Reflections
In our water session, we'll journey to the tranquil banks of the St. Croix River, painting scenes inspired by its serene beauty. From lush riverbanks to gently flowing waters, you'll learn how to convey the peaceful ambiance and natural splendor of this picturesque river landscape.

5 | Mindful Plein Air Painting
In this additional session, we'll blend the practice of mindfulness with plein air painting, allowing you to deepen your connection with nature and your creative process. You'll learn how to cultivate a state of presence and awareness as you immerse yourself in the sights and sounds of the summer landscape. Through guided mindfulness exercises and plein air painting techniques, you'll discover new ways to infuse your artwork with a sense of tranquility and inner peace. Whether you're a beginner or experienced painter, this session offers a unique opportunity to nourish your soul and express your creativity in harmony with the natural world.

Duration: Five Wednesday evening sessions, each lasting two hours.
Dates: June 19th, June 26th, July 10th, July 17th, July 24th
Time: 5:30pm-7:30pm
Location: Class 1 and 2 at Stillwater Studio. The remaining classes will be held outside weather permitting.

Skill Level: All levels welcome, from beginners to experienced painters.
Instructor: Megan Miller, a seasoned artist passionate about both teaching and creating art.
Cost: $500 for all 5 sessions. Venmo, Cash or Check. $100 deposit due by June 10th. The remaining balance is due on the first day of class.

I use Gamblin primarily. But, Winsor & Newton, LUKAS, Rembrandt oil paints are others that are good. Don’t buy cheap paint, in the end you’ll pay more because you’ll need more to make color adjustments. If you are serious about painting invest now for sucess later.
